we know how great the legendary bh6-bh5 runs. all the young maniacs runnin hi fsb 1-1 are generally using some form of hynix 4ns modules.but has anyone done an in depth test of the cheapo off brand stuff like transcend, apacer , simpletech kreton, etc? i cant help but wonder isthere a diamond in the rough just waitingto show its stuff? id love to buy a 256 stick of about 6or8 of these off brand sticks and test em myself.. only prob is id have about 300 bux of stuff i cant use....

Well, if you can find a site with a return policy you could potentiall return all of it with a slight restocking fee. That, or you could try contacting a couple of them (don't know how well it would work, but maybe it would for some companies) to see if they would send you sticks for review.

Sometimes generic brands do work really well. Buffalo's PC3700 with BH-5 is a good example of that.
