I tried using CoolCpu to overclock but the pll-ic ICS 9250-26b only goes up to 112FSB in the options. The program doesn't even give me any options to go higher. It runs smoothly on 112FSB so I don't think it's because I'm overdoing it. What's the problem? Is this just the limitations of the program for that specific pll-ic? The others listed there all seemed to let it go up to 133FSB. Oh by the way I have Compaq board....so no jumpers, no editable bios, no nothing....the program is all I've got!! Please help!! Help is severely needed!! What should I do?

I think that 112 is all that the board's BIOS will allow. I have used CPUCool and it goes up in the same steps that are on the SoftMenu for the CPU in the BIOS.

If your motherboard didn't hide this BIOS selection from you (if it was in the menu on BIOS setup) I think you would find that 112 is the top choice.

Maybe someone else will disagree, but if I am right then the only way for you to get more speed is with a different chip or a different motherboard.

Yup..rip out that board, and use it for target practice..don't donate it to any school...it would be too cruel...to the school.
When somebody tells me they just bought a compaq, I usualy reply with "my condolances"..or "I'm sorry, I wish you would have talked to me first"...but compaq's are alright, if you never want to upgrade, or overclock...they are great machines as is..but when it's time to upgrade...you will have more fun putting a live hand grenade down your pants.
Did I mention I hate compaq?

Gee, then is it worth getting a new heat sink/fan if I'm only clocking at 112? I have a 750/100 now, after CoolCpu I have a 840/112. Do you guys think it's worth dishing out the extra bucks for it? It runs fine right now without any extra cooling. Since I probably can't go any higher...Maybe I can leave it as is...
