View Full Version : PIII 933 Overclock
I just scrapped my AMD 900 Tbird and Abit KT7 Raid board. Couldn't take the unstability any more, Made me feel like I was back in Nam, never knew when or where the enemy would strike.
I Have A Retail PIII 933 and a SA6R board coming, anybody have a rough idea of how far I can take the 933 chip. I would love to see 1050. That would be at 150 fsb. Any ideas and suggestions would be appreciated. And yes I do not expect the PIII to be as fast as my AMD, One can hope though

1050 is definitely in your future!!!!
Anymore is a squeeze.
Thanks Bigwave 1050 would be nice
I see you are going to purchase a RETAIL chip. I would go out and get some better cooling and probably arctic silver. good luck

I wouldn't think 1100's would be out of reach for the 933, but I agree with mark...when the retail cpu comes, put on an Alpha, or Global win, with arctic silver...but don't make the mistake that many do...use the thermal compound sparingly...a very thin coat is plenty...many put on too much, and end up with worse temps than if they just left the original h.s. on.
We will be interested in what u can acomplish with that chip.
Thanks for the advice, do appreciate it. I will be using what I had for my Tbird 900 that ran at 94 F max temp for that I used a Alpha 6035 with a YS 27cfm fan, plus I'll be using the Fong Kai server case with the 4 in intake fan and the high output exhaust fan, so heat should not be a problem. For memory I have 256 of the Munchkin 133 cas2 the new stuff, that is supposed to work at cas2 at 150 ??? we shall see. I'm itching to see if the retail chip will do better then the oem or white box, I'm told it will. Will advise ASAP. Again thanks.
