Right now I have my cele 633 @ 1.04Ghz.. Yahoo....
I have it running at 2.0v with a home redesigned HSF. It idles at room temp of 24c
and at 100% load it is around 40c. What do you guys think about running it at 2.0v.
I know I could get it stable at 1.055Ghz at 2.1v, but that sounds like a lot...
Any suggestions?
Here is a pic of the modded HSF. I needed to have the angle to clear all of the
dimms. The output of the fan blows on the little greenie on the MB and it runs about
30c(monitor taped to the top of the little greenie).
GIDDYUP!!!
1.04GHz.....well done, there!
I've got my Celeron 600 up to 1045 now, at 2.05v myself.
I think that's about as far as one should go w/ the voltage. Don't think I'd run at 2.1, except very briefly.
Those temps are right where you want them, so I'd have to say you did well on the heatsink and fan too.
I've got an Alpha PEP66T due in tomorrow, to replace the Gorb thats on the Celeron now. Hopefully I'll be able to drop the voltage to 2.0v with the additional cooling.
WTG!!!! Congrats!

Thanks for the input Mr B.
I have a waterblock on the way from 2cooltek the "tidal pool".
I know it is made of AL but so is my radiator... Well see if I can get more Mhz with its water cooled. (then I will have to try a peltier too :) )
lemme know how the alpha does.
The wife picked me up at work tonight (dropped me off this morning, too) as my '81 Cutlass snuffed it Sat. morning. We went car shopping, and by the time we got home, neither of us thought of getting the mail today. I JUST checked it....Got a delivery notice in today, and the only thing I have due in is the Alpha.
Hmmmm.... looks like Alpha Bytes for breakfast....
(sorry, couldn't reseist)
(for those you don't know/remember, Alpha Bits was a breakfast cereal put out by General Mills quite a few years ago....shaped like letters of the alphabet)
Mr B
I wouldn't recomend running at 2v for a long period of time and would be cautious going over 2v as I know people who's chips have died at this voltage even though they had low temps

I have bumped it down to 1.03Gig at 1.95v STABLE as a ROCK!!
When I get my new waterblock I'll see what it can do while I save the money for a coldplate and peltier...
At least it is still over 1Gig =)

I got my celly II 633@1045 @ 1.75V (actually 1.78V).
It will run @ 1064 @ 1.85V. All air cooled..i guess i got lucky with this chip...
I know it will do 1.1Ghz and over but i'm gonna have to get a waterblock and peltier..what a shame eh.
/me looking forward to fun and being laughed at by the wife

Just for sh!ts and grins, I set the voltage to 2.1 and it would boot into Win2k @ 1130Mhz. Yahoo!!!!! I cannot wait to water cool it. Then peltier cooling...
I have it set back at 1030 at 1.95 now.

Now I have it water cooled. Just testing right now. With just plain water it lets me run at 1.04 at 1.95 stable. Idles at 22c and never gets above 39c.
From what I understand Water Wetter should helo a little by reducing the surface tension of the water. We'll see. I need to go and get some.
Now I am looking for a peltier to run. Thinking 80-112w
Wadda ya think?
