I've asked before and got no answer. My MS-6905 Master is set for non-cumine. Prob is I can't run 100 FSB. Cel. 566 will boot and fire into win, but I get either win prot. error or I'll get a box that tells me an internal error has occurred and a win I was using was closed. Recommend saving work and restart. If I bump voltage beyond 1.70 I get win prot. error as I enter win. ????????????

Have you tried @83 FSB?
Have you a strange Win error like General Protection Fault? or at Post Memory Test Fail?
I've a C2 600 cb0 @746 1.7v 83Fsb stable like a rock!
but @900 nothing :-( probably i must change my Hsf.
What are yours temperatures?

When I get into win at 850@1.70v, temps are 37c. Don't beleive heat to be the prob.

Have you set higher voltage up to1.7 (Fsb 100)?
I can set max 1.75 but it's not enough, some people have reached 1.85-2.0v
for stability.
Have you memory Pc100 or 133? and what's the cas latency 2 or 3?
If you are asking, is a Celeron 566 cB0 a coppermine, then the answer is yes.

Thanks batboy. Exactly what I needed. Am now at 100 FSB.
You are welcome my son. Now go little grasshopper and strive for 103 fsb, the next step toward mastering the fine art of overclocking. But remember, to keep your CPU cool and happy.

CPU is cool and happy at 35c Now at 103 FSB I'll get a box that tells me an internal error has occurred and a win I was using was closed. Recommend saving work and restart. Don't know what that's about.
Temp is ok if that's CPU load temp. If you're still at 1.7v try bumping up the voltage and see if that helps with stability.

Be shure you´re using a good paste, copper or silver one... They help avoiding the temperature scale up too faster and help reducing the maximum cpu temperature (the minimum doesn´t really matter...).. It may be that litle degree we are always looking for... Good luck!

Update: I was goin' nuts cause I couldn't run at 103FSB. Soooo, I pulled the proc and removed the copper shim. Not only am I at 103FSB but temp fell 4-5c. Now I'm toolin' along at 876MHz with a load temp of 31c. Now I'll go crazy tryin' to get 112FSB hehehe.:)

O.K. So now I gotta go wet. I'm idle at 31c and load 36-37c. Think this may be as far as I can go on air-cooling.
Congrats, I feel so proud. You got an exceptional chip.

That's truly great for a cb0. mine was crappy. It would only post at 876 and no more. Got a new board and cC0 celly 566, as old board killed itself and my old Celly.
Still playing, but posted and loaded Boot menu from win98 floppy at 1003 yesterday. Check out : http://forums2.overclockers.ws/forums/UltraBoard.cgi?action=Read&BID=8&TID=4190&SID=49620 for more details... only if you're interested, mind :¬)}
