View Full Version : OMG! Lineage II!!!!
Ok, I've said a few things about the game that weren't so nice. But after seeing a few of the videos... OMG!!!!!!! Look at these:
Movies (http://www.lineage2.com/movies/movies.html)
Unbelievable. The castle seige? WOW! Imagine fighting a war like that in an MMO. I mean, I've seen a few battles that got upto around 50 people, but not all organized like that with archers on the battlements raining fire arrows down while enemies charged the gates on gigantic monster mounts! Holy hell!
And then imagine replacing the music with the Lord of the Rings soundtrack! I do that a lot in MMO games :D. Especially with the ROTK soundtrack. Amazing.
There were a few characters dissappearing and reappearing during a few scenes. But considering it's well over a hundred players, I can overlook that.
I like this game. Is it just me or are there alot of panty shots in this game? ;)

http://lineage.gamigo.de/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2140&perpage=15&pagenumber=1
Good thread on how to download the client and make an account.
Servers go live tomorrow! :)
U.S. Time it starts at 10pm eastern.. OMG 2 and a half hours !~!~!~!~!~! wewt wewt t00t t00t
Thanks for the heads up MrRamon. I'm gonna try it! But one thing worries me though. Only language I speak is english so I'm gonna be clueless for the most part if it's based in Taiwan. :(
Btw, Welcome to the forums! :)

Thanks Papier in the game there is an option to turn it to English.. although it only translates the menus and items. You can also check out http://web2.249088.vserver.de/ for english quest translations and they even have a almost fully English game patch :).
You know I"m interested in a game when I download almost every movie of it off a website. :D
I usually don't play MMORPG unless there's a demo out or if it's open beta. I heard this game is almost a cult following in Korea with something like 4 million players.
Thanks man for the info! :)

hmmm i reallly hate richard garriot after ultim 9 but i think i may give this game a shot
Man, I downloaded the siege video yesterday, and WHOAH. The only problem that I could see, was the arrows flying through the wall, and the somewhat choppy movement.
I've seen a couple of moves from this game. I must say it looks pretty promising! Will check out on this game now and then to see what happends.
I'm still waiting for World of Warcraft thou.

Ramon, do you have the client? There a way I can ftp it from you?
I have an account, but the client takes 9 hours to download, & I've been timing out from them.
I usually donm't do this but I'm thinking of starting a clan for it. Anyone want to join me? This way, we can have a good number of ppl before the game launches and be pretty powerful already. Anyone?
I know it's early, but the game looks amazing and I DO want to be a force to reckon with in that game :D
yeah its a great game, i got to play it for a few months when korean beta was going on
VERY fun-- much better than Daoc,ff xi, and judging from the game layout it will suit my playstyle much better than W.o.W
the only game that ive had that much fun on (mmorpg) was pre-trammel UO

There is an English patch that puts some of the text in English. I wasn't able to get very far because it was late at night, and was getting horrible lag (game would freeze for minutes). The menus were in English, apparently the quests and some NPC text is in English as well, but I wasn't able to tell.
The next step for me is to get a proxy server set up to stop the lag. The horrible lag I was experiencing apparently goes completely away if I would use a Taiwanese, Japanese, or HK proxy. However, I wasn't able to get any proxy working properly. I have the software and list of proxies, but was unable to connect through one. I don't know if I need to tweak a setting in my winxp or on my router. I'll have to try harder when I get home.
Game is beautiful though. The interface is very similar to DAOC, so the game is already familiar with me. I didn't figure out how to turn on the English captions until about an hour into the game, but I was still able to create a character, enter the game, equip items and fight (as well as logoff when during the lag storms) with the Taiwanese text.

If I ever get the game, then sure I'll become part of the clan. It'll look way off character though if we all had [OCG] in our names.
Haha, yeah, I was thinking of something more fantasy-esque. I don't really have any ideas though. It's 1 am...

Taiwan beta. Most of the game is still in Taiwanese, and most on the game don't know english too well.

You need to go into options in the login screen, go to the tab on the right, and choose the first drop-down box down.

also when i try to register, and after im done filling out all that info i hit submit and it takes awhile to load but i just get a "This page can not be displayed"screen so i dont think its going through....
I noticed there is a whole lot of traffic going thru and I think they're getting hit too hard. Try again later. I think it went okay for me untill iexplorer crashed on me.
Alright, I've managed to get an account, download the game and make a character. The lag is actually very good for me and I live in the U.S. It's only partly english with the english option on. I fiddled around with the welcome screen or whatever that thing is for a few minutes, trying to close it.
But I like the game. Created a cute elf char called Alexandria. She's a spellcaster. And yes I'm a guy... it's an RPG afterall. :p I hate to put the armor you get in the beginning because she looks so good with her starting clothes. I've also managed to kill a wolf thingy in the beginning of the game.
My first impressions of this is already good. I haven't really encountered any bugs whatsoever and the gameplay has been kinda smooth so far.Not bad for a beta. :)

The only thing bad I can think about this game is how you buy skills/spells with exp points. When this game goes live, I forsee people powerleveling alts so they can save up their exp and just get the 'uber' spells, instead of working their way up.
I think it's alright for the new player since you're forced to buy spells and skills to kill more monsters and complete quests. But I can see how it's exploited if you're an experienced player and you have a few buddies helping you powerlvl. Hopefully they'll fix it.
yeah... everything's in Taiwanese... can't get account... oh well

I guess it won't be too bad, since you do need to learn lvl 1 spells before you go to lvl2. I had to get light armor mastery just to make soloing easier, even though I know I won't be using light armor later.
I have a little q. I've managed to get to lvl 4. But how do you buy skills? I still got my wind spell and healing spell.

For active spells, you need to buy an item from the magic shop and take it to the trainer. If you go to your trainer and look at the spells available, it will tell you the item you need to buy.
I'm an orc mage, and I needed to be lvl7 before I could get any spells (which made the first 7 levels pretty annoying).
Not sure if you've seen it, but warcry has a nice site about the game: Here's the page with the skills/spells (http://lin.warcry.com/index.php/content/lineage2/content/db_php/skills_list)

can anyone log in??? also i'm lvl 10 de fighter :)
I've been playing it for a few days. Downloaded the english quest things and stuff. I'm still a lvl 4 elf mage though. I play on the first server, and at the starting elven village, it gets VERY laggy from all the players. I think there is easily over a thousand ppl in that village alone. But the game handles all the players very well I'm surprised.

are there zones?
There's no zones. They say something about making it one big zone. I know sometimes going from area to area, there'll be a slight stutter. It doesn't stop the gameplay at all. But it stutters just enough for me to notice it.
