My question is, is it possible to overclock the p3 by setting your own multiplier? Mine is locked at 7.5X133=997.5.

Here are my system specs

P3-1GHZ@133FSB
256 PC133 CAS3 Ram @133mhz
ABit SA6-Raid Motherboard 1 4XAGP/6 PCI/1 CNR
Voodoo3 2000 PCI
SBLive! Value PCI
Realmagic Hollywood+ DVD Decoder Card PCI
WinTV 401-TV/Radio PCI
Linksys 10TX/100BTX PCI
LT Winmodem 56K PCI

He he that´´s an old question.. and the answer were already said to you upon mine ... Usually the PII266 are already locked and all intel cpus from them until today, with exception of some really really rare pII400 some lucky guys bought at gold price in the early pII production, before the multiplier locking decision...

Sounds like you need a BIOS update...why are you running a P3 1GHz at a 7.5 multiplier? *Sometimes* that works for o/c'ing...

My Abit BE-6-II is OK for an 11x multiplier and 200MHz FSB via the latest BIOS update. Check it out for your board...good luck.

Mr Chip,

He is giving us the stock multiplier and FSB. Since the multiplier is locked by Intel the only way that he can overclock is to change the FSB. So since his multiplier is 7.5, if he can boot at 140 FSB his speed will be 1050. If he can make 150, then speed will be 7.5x150=1124.

At 1.0 GHZ why would you want to go any higher? And take the risk of firing that $$$
