View Full Version : Does Circuit City or Best Buy price match online stores?
OK I am thinking of getting a Rio karma but Best buy or Circut City have it for around $330 after rebate. But I can get it online for $248.00 after rebate. http://www.compuplus.com/insidepage.php3?refer=cnet.com&id=1001537 So would they pricematch or go tell me to take a hike. I would rather get it from Circut City or Best Buy cause its easier for me and I don't have to pay for shiping.

i think only for printed circulars, otherwise someone could make their own store site set prices at like 0.01 on a 500 dollars or more item and make money with the 110% policy...

I think it can be done, but they call the store to verify prices and what not...

Most places will NOT do that, Best Buy doesn't even match THEIR online prices.

I don't work at Bestbuy, but I do work at Circuit City and ever sense I've been there we have always honored are Online prices "From Bestbuy, Ultimate Electronic, Walmart, Etc". I always go out of my way to make the correction so if you do go to Circuit City and they say "Take a hike" complain to a manager and he'll ring it up for you. Best Buy should allow this as well, but 95% of the time it's just lazy employee's who can't get off there ass to do it sense it takes about 5mins to do if not more. Now as for honoring prices online from a non retail store they won't do.

You have to bring either in the physical ad with the lower price or we call up the store to verify it. Now if it's online an employee has to get off the floor and go check for it in the back which let me tell you.....Most employee's will blow you off and lie saying they can't honor it.

EAB for your question, I can almost bet you'll have a problem sense the online place that is cheaper isn't a retail store. Although depending on who you talk too, Some managers will let it slide and ring you up at that price. If it's a popular selling item then forget it, but sense MP3 Players rarely sell at CC I'd give it a try.

According to the price match policy, Circuit City will only pricematch online prices that have a location in your local area. Hence why they would Best Buy, Wal-Mart, etc. They probably WON'T pricematch online only prices.

Go to www.BestBuy.com
Scroll to the bottom and click on "Conditions of Use."
It says they don't price match their online store.

Interesting Tom, I wasn't aware of that. Oh well, Yet another reason not to shop at Best Buy Lol.........Although Circuit City isn't a whole lot better ;)

Actually Circuit City is pretty cool, I like anyone with an easy refund policy. I'd shop there, theoretically. What's the employee discount like? :D
Best Buy's is 5% over manufacturer.

Yeah I was kidding Tom, Circuit City isn't that bad of a place. Especially if you get me as an Employee Heh. My store is just one of the "Not So Great" stores in the state. As far as the discount goes we usually get it at cost, Honestly I don't know the % but on some items it seems unusually low. Are discount has been cut multiple times and I really haven't asked lately sense I rarely buy things. Besides after discount some items are still cheaper on New Egg or Ebay Heh.
