I just bought this little MP3 player and OMG this little thing rocks. I have been looking around here in the forums for some good ones and seems that everyone keeps saying I-River rocks. Thank god for the OC community or I would have something that isnt as well built. Do any of you guys out there also have this MP3 player? What do you think of it?

very cool, could you give more infomration on it, like how you like the features, but 200 USD for 256 is kinda messed up =(. I wante a 15gb Ipod for that =P

Well a lot of the features that make this little mp3 player worth 200 bucks are pretty good.

All it takes is one AA battery and the damn thing will work for more than 20 hours. I wanted an MP3 player that I dont have to worry about only having 4 hours worth of battery. I liked this one because it is RAM based with no moving parts = less energy consumed.

The RAM based design also makes it skip resistant as well. I do a lot of moving around and just dont want to have skipping. The disk based MP3 players like the Ipods with the moving parts make me feel a little wierd...mostly because I am a little rough when I run and I felt like I would break the damn thing. :D

The FM tuner on this MP3 player allows me to listen to the radio when my MP3's get a little old or I get bored. I was pretty suprised at how good the reception is.

The software for loading the MP3's is easy to use and straightforward. Here is the big one...IRiver updates fireware for their MP3 players quite regularly and you can upgrade the firmware on your player at anytime. That is a rare trait.

Hope that helps.

I have a Iriver T180+ I love that thing. Very small, size is kinda small though (128 megs) so it's a trade off, skip resistant, but not totally water resistatnt (as it took a while before it worked after going through the wash).

I still love the little sucker to death and carry it everywhere

Back when I bought my 64 meg Muvo, I was looking at the iRiver 1xx series too (the 3xx predecessor.) Really I don't know what changed between the series except now they look a lot cooler. But anyways, I almost got one of the 1xx's. The only reason I didn't is it requires a cable, and doesn't double as a USB flash drive. Other than that, iRiver has a perfect player. FM tuner, voice recorder, long battery life, and great form factor. Not even the Muvo NXs are that good, they lack a FM tuner.
