Well, after some events today with the PC Format S@H team, I have decided to switch teams, since I have had a good relationship with the lads and lasses of Overclockers.com S@H, I have decided that OC.com S@H would be the best home for me and my 16842 work units.
Reasons for leaving PCF is because it simply wasnt fun anymore, I used to enjoy crunching for the team, but in the last few months it has become too political for me, too much *******g and all the friendly banter that used to populate the forums has gone completely, when the top 7 members left the team, taking over 2 millions units with them (who happened to be run by the same person) it was the last straw for me.
Anyway, thats my story, and you should be seeing a lot more of me around here now :)

Yeh Tell me about it!:(
Welcome Jason, glad to have you with us. ;)
Don't worry you guys. If my guess is right you've still got at least a month or two to hit the top 50. Keep pushing hard. ;)
Sorry to hear about the trouble, but every team experiences something similar at one time or another. At any rate we're happy to have you here :)

I can leave again if you feel really put out by my place in the top 50 ;)
Although its a step down for me, I was 8th in PCFormat.

Its a sad day for me really, been with PCF since the start of crunching for S@H, but you have made me feel welcome here which lessens the sadness a little.

Right, where to start really...
As some of you may know, I was head statsman for PC Format, until today infact. So I was pretty deeply involved with team business. Right, that said, on with the explaination.
About 6 months ago, there was a disagreement with two of the major members of the team, which got pretty ugly, and I got stuck in the middle of it, each one asking me to take sides, which I didnt want to do. Anyway, the two members both threatened to leave, one did leave, but later came back. The situation setttled down for a while, but flared up again several times, with me in the middle, this in turn was destoying the community on the forums, but I stuck with it. More scuffles broke out between the two members, and it all came to a head today really when the top 7 members, all run by the same person left the team, taking well over 2 million units with them. I decided that I can really do without the hastle, which brings me to overclockers.com.
Make sense?
Welcome to the team! I've only been here about a month but the community is pleasant and knowledgeable :)
Glad to have ya with us.

Jason,
Very sorry to hear that the unrest over at PCF refused to smooth itself out. I know you felt strongly about the entire organization over there and making a move like you have certainly was not easy for you. I can only say I am glad that maybe through our communications over the past 4-6 months, you felt comfortable enough with our team to be able to adopt it as your new homebase. I personally look forward to many great experiences with your arrival here and extend a hand of friendship.

Its safe to say that you are the main reason for me being here, Ron, so everyone can Blame Ron for me being here, if he never contacted me via Email after the mutual stats problems of berkeley changing links, and setiteam not working, causing panic on every statsman face. But other than my conversations with Ron, everyone else made me feel welcome, even when I was part of a 'rival' team, which made me feel certain that I would fit in here.
It was a hard decision for me to leave PCF, as Ron knows, I was fiercely loyal to the team, until now, when the stress levels were going through the roof, I have enough other things to worry about, without extra problems of SETI. Hopefully I can just get back to crunching without any stress.

Yeh were are friendly here and what i said up farther was just a joking around thing. You see me and Cuper have been racing towards the top 50 to get there first and now i'm worried he'll get there first since i dropped 3 spaces in the last few days due to new people popping in. It'll take longer to get there now (Approx. 30 days or less).
So no no need to leave!:)

Thanks for all the warm welcomes, it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside, or maybe that the beer.
No doubt some of the people that I displaced will be overtaking me soon, my little XP2000+ wont do anymore than 7 units per day, the only reason I am up where I am is because I had some help from friends.
Anyway, thanks again for the welcome, I am off to get some sleep, late nights and early mornings really dont go together.

One thing you may have already noticed, but can never be said often or loud enough is, This Team Values Every Member! Whether you are able to do 1WU/day or 1000WUs/day your value to this team is in the effort to participate, volume & value are not tied together.
Don't get me wrong, we are a firey bunch of competitors and we take a challenge seriously, but we do it as a team. The change over to BOINC is going to present some interesting problems initially until we come up with some possible ways to incorporate our teamraces of Phase I into the new credit system of Phase II, but without doubt the collective spirt of this team will find someway of keeping the competitive fires burning long and strong.

We bust chops and can be FIERCELY competitive both within the team and with other teams.....
But it's all good! :D
Even the fiercest of competitors will offer tips and trick to anyone else to improve their output.
Maybe after a few days of doing it themselves FIRSt...but that's just to make sure it works. ;)
Seriously:
Welcome to the Team!
But sorry it had to happen that way. :(

I did realise that Overclockers.com SETI values every member whether they produce one unit per month, per week, per day, or per second. I realised that through reading this forum over the last few months, and through my Email conversations with Ron. It was much the same setup at PCF, which I why I was sure I would fit in here. Little things like welcoming members like myself, and congratulating people on passing milestones, no matter how small all works towards making people feel wanted and increases loyalty on the part of the members.
I am not going to say that I will ever forget PCF SETI, as it was part of my life for the best part of 2 years, but my future will be dedicated to Overclockers.com.
