January 13, 2004 - When enthusiasts are looking for the ultimate AMD platform, many turn to ABIT's award winning line of nForce2-based motherboards. Now, following the overwhelming success of its NF7-S and AN7 motherboards, ABIT is proud to announce the expansion of its nForce2 motherboard lineup, and the development of its first motherboard based on NVIDIA's nForce3 chipset.

ABIT's nForce2-based motherboards are widely regarded as the finest nForce2 platforms available.

With strong features and breakneck performance, ABIT's NF7-S and AN7 have been garnering numerous awards worldwide. With this success under its belt, ABIT is looking to release other motherboards based on this highly successful chipset, in order to meet the needs of a growing and diversified user base.

NVIDIA's nForce3 chipset offers a compelling solution for the Athlon 64 processor. As the innovator in the motherboard industry, ABIT is determined to deliver the ABIT Engineered nForce3 solution that users have been waiting for.

Ahh.. Why doesn't some company out there make a socket 462 motherboard that can do up to like 350 FSB on the norm. Is it limited by the chipset or the motherboard, because if it's the chipset I don't see why they don't go out and make a new one which allows higher FSBs.

I don't know anything about this really though, as some of you have probably noticed.

LOL, no worries bro... don't learn if you don't ask.

By 350 FSB I assume you mean 350MHz. If it is then there are many reasons why they haven't yet.

For one, there is no CPU on the market that is rated at that speed, and I would be suprised if any could do that even if a motherboard allowed it.

Two, no ram even comes remotely close to 350MHz, the fastest ram on the market right now is rated at about 275MHz (DDR550) and even that RAM is struggling to get to 300MHz.

Three, Socket 462 is on it's last legs so companies don't want to put their resources into it.

Four, why doesn't some company release some magic CPU that can do 100GHz, with quad hyperthreading, 128bit architecture, 1GB Cache, that runs at 20 degree C, on 2v? ;)

It's not on the cards mate...

Can you edit your first post to include a link? That's the general protocol for posting press releases around here.
