Hi there.
Is there a way to check out the week you CPU was manufactured in Windows or the BIOS, or do I have to take off the heatsink to look at the die?

Also, I just read another post that said the newer 2500+ chips may not be locked, that AMD may have changed their mind. Is there any way to tell if it's locked or not other than to preform whatever bridge mod worked in the past and see if the mod was successful or not?

Thanks.

You will need to get the code from the black sticker on the pcb of the cpu. So yes get to removing your hsf and reinstalling your hsf and get us some #'s.

I was afraid you were going to say that. :(

I've got a Zalman 7000A that the store mounted for me and I've heard it's kinda difficult to mount. Plus that and all the time I spent putting everything in so nice (cable management etc.). Oh well. Guess it's the only way to find out if it's locked or not (or at least a good place to start).

Well you could always change the muiltplier in bios and see if you can get into windows. Like an 8x or 9x instead of 11x. Use cpuz to look @ your fsb and muiltplier.

P.s If no post just clear cmos and setup bios back up look in your manual.
