View Full Version : [SOLVED] power supply 230 volts or 300
i am running a p3 700@933 , with a 230 volt power supply. If i run my system for a couple hours and cut it off go back about 30 min later and turn it on i have to turn the power off button on the back of my case on and off about 3 times before my pc will start . do anyone think i need to buy a bigger power supply . i am a gamer so do you think it's really needed . your will input will be appreciated ....ty

A 230 will usually do a good job...depends on your video card, system fans, heatsink fan(s), hard drives, cd-roms, scsi peripherals....etc....
I would go with a 300....just because. I have my eye on one of those 400's......
I had a 235 watt power supply that worked great until I kept adding cards, drives, and fans. Under heavy load, I'd hear the fans slow down. I recently upgraded to a 300 watt Antec power supply...sweet! Lots of room to grow. I'm going to add a couple more fans even. Get a 400 watt if you think you'll ever use a peltier.
