Games randomly shut down whilst playing?

I have Hitman 2 and NFS:U, both LEGAL copies, and both of them, for no given reason, will just sporadically close, no error messages, no system lockup, the game just closes.

If you are overclocked try un-overclocking and give it a day or two and see how it goes. If the problem goes away then sounds like perhaps a bit too high oc, if problem still occurs well then I don't know :P

try downloading the latest drivers for all your devices (esp vid card), then patching the game. Then you could try shutting down suspicious looking programs running in the background. I've had annoying viruses that randomly shut down certain programs on me. Really annoying. (they were mostly core system programs, virus scanners, or things i could use to shut the program down).
