Wow, alot has happened in that last two days. I removed the hsf and reapplied my radio shack grease, put the fan back on, and made it to windows, but then when i do things, it reboots. I have some options on what to do. I can get a new celeron 2 600 and hope to get it to 1 gig, or i can wait a month and get a p3 700 and take it to 933. what should i do
the p3 is the best option as just going to a faster celeron isn't worth the money and few 600 reach a gig although most will do 900 wuite easily, my 600 does do 1008 but it took a lot of work to get it there

Raise your voltage, this will definetly get rid of your problem

The cheapest upgrade I can think of for your setup, is some arctic silver thermal compound...this stuff made a 4-7 degree difference in my cpu temps...and thus allowed a higher stable speed...with the extra benefit gained from the A.S. you could safely raise the voltage, and probably go higher with just air cooling ;-)
Good call, Doc,
I did that w/ my Celeron 600 a while ago. Dropped my temps, and I was able to get a couple more MHz worth of FSB in the process.
The A.S. works LOTS better than the Radio Shack stuff, and better than the Dow Corning stuff that ThermalTake pre-applies on the Gorbs.

It's not quite that simple an issue
