HELL YEA IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY!!! My brother is coming home tonight (21) and he got a abit be6 for free, and he is giving me a ata66 raid card drom fast trak with it! My Celeron II 700 Will now be tugging away at some nice speed lke 950 +. I am probably sure u guyz are pretty damn happy that you don't have to hear me anymore bout my Celeron. Now all you'll hear is gloating! lol. I know this chip will do nicley on this mobo. Only one question tho, it is agp 2x right? Will this damage my performance on my radeon?

O yea i will be flying now!
Any info on the be6 will be greatly apprecaited! As soon as possible as my brother will be home in about 4 hours.

There ya go, Carmine! That will do wonders for your rig. Yeah, 2x for the AGP, but from what I've read, here isn't really any software out there that takes full advantage of the 4x over the 2x.

I just got my Soyo 6BA+III up and running (It has bad PS/2 ports, so I had to get a new USB keyboard to use it), and I tell you what......BX chipset works sooooooooo much better than the VIA Apollo Pro 133.

Sandra mem bench scores momre than DOUBLED with 64 MB less installed!! (VIA 320 MB, BX, 256 MB)

Running the Celeron at 117 FSB, whereas the VIA board would lock up at 115 immediately (although, in fairness, I replaced the Gorb w/ an Alpha PEP66T, which might have a bit to do w/ that)

You'll be quite happy w/ that mb, Carmine.

Have fun setting that up!

Hey,

I can't say enough good things about the BE6....I have an old BE6 that was STRUCK BY LIGHTNING and the darn thing still works! The thermal sensors are kind of screwy, but other than that, just as good as the day I bought it. The AGP2X on the board gave me no problems with my AGP4X GeForce2 MX.

Happy O/Cing!

The BF6 is a good one too. In fact Tim was trying to steer me towards one long ago. Go sifting back thru the posts in "intel motherboards" for more info on this.

It still is only 2x AGP. I cant remember if it has the Highpoint ATA66 controller, or not. Tim has one, and swears by it though. From the posts of his that I've read, he knows what he's talking about.

Also, go to abit's site and look up the specs there. that will give you the difinitive answer on what the board offers for options.

Does the bf6 have up to 200fsb in 1 mhz increments like the be6? What is the ABIt website? I am only 15 and still learning!! LOL I really want to get a company to send me stuff to review for them! I love messing around with new equipment and testing it out! I sent maybe 10 email to different companies and none replied :"""""(. O well!

I just went to Abit's website...

go here:

www.abit-usa.com

click on motherboards up in the upper left, and the BF6 in the list. This will get you to the spec page for the BF6.

SotMenu III......BIOS adjustable FSB from 83 to 200 FSB in 1 MHz increments..........

You will find out EXACTLY what the P/// of yours will do.

This mb does not have the ATA66 compatability.

Well....don't just sit there, Carmine, go check it out!

Have fun.....................

The BE6 only goes to 150fsb, and NO 1mhz increment.....I have a BE6, and without a pci video card, I could not go higher than 140fsb, but the only jump after 140 is 150...nothing in between, but it is rock stable at 140fsb...too bad there are no 1mhz increments like the be6-2..and the sh6...I still use my old BE6 it runs 24/7win2k....and the 600E I have will go back into that one, and live out it's life at 840mhz.
I wouldn't throw away any Abit board, but I have never had a prob either...you must be excited
