Hi guys,
im about to order a Shuttle but i wont do that before its checked by you. Here are the details:
Shuttle SN45G
Chip: nVidia nForce2 Ultra 400 (Southbridge: MCP-T)
AMD XP 2500+/333 Socket A Barton
AOpen FX5900XT 128MB DVI/TV
2x Corsair PC400 512MB CMX512-3200LL XMS LOW LATENCY, 64Mx64 non-ECC unbuffered 2-2-2-6-1T
IDE 80 GB Western Digital 800JB
Aopen 48/16/24/48 Retail
Could u pls check if this system is any good and if u would change any of its components.
im planning to OC the CPU to XP2500+@3200+ (2200Mhz). it should work with no or minimal vcore adjustments, or am i wrong?
Any replies are very much apprechiated. Sry for my bad english but im not a native speaker :/

Systems made by Shuttle might not be good for overclocking. The heatsinks used in them are not built to deal with a large amount of heat.
Also, by PC400 do you mean DDR400/PC3200? If so, then Corsair's PC3200 memory should work very well.
Your system looks good to me, but like I said, small form factor Shuttle PC's are not very good for overclocking.

thx for ur reply johan ! if i got it right the heat wont rise if i dont change the vcore. i heard many reports stating that the 2500+ (stock 166fsb x 11) can be run at 200 x 11 without changing the vcore. if i have to change the vcore to add stability i will go no higher then 1.7 (1.65 stock) so the additional heat should b solved by the standard HS.
if im talkin absolute bulls*** pls let me know :)
/edit yes the ram is DDR 400 3200

Are you in the US? How much are you paying for that Shuttle?
Brand new Soltek nForce2 is $69 and is not only a lot better than Shuttle, it's a great overall overclocking board, even better than Asus.
Don't skimp on the power supply, you'll need a name brand.

ill get the shuttle 250W Supersilent instead of the 200W stock PSU. Im not living in the us but in Austria. Overall price for the system posted above is 950 Euro / 1000 $ (guessed)

I'm confused...are we talking about one of those micro cube PCs? Or a standard full size ATX machine? Because I'm not familiar with that particular motherboard. I thought the only shuttle nforce2 ultra 400 chipset motherboard was the AN35N-Ultra. I'm not familiar with the mini PC boards though.

Do you have any other power supplies available? 250W is barely enough to power you system, and will probably significantly limit your OC potential. I think if you can find a name-brand 350W PSU, it would make you system not only more stable, but allow you to OC higher than with a low-wattage noname brand.

@pingspike: the SN45G is a shuttle barebone (mini pc) with a shuttle mobo with nforce3 ultra 400 chipset. details on www.shuttle.com
@georgelogy: i was told by shuttle owners that the 200W shuttle PSU works w/o probs with highend cpu/gfx/hdd/cdrw. somehow the shuttle 200W is compareable with 30W-350W normal PSU. dont ask me how this works :P
of course the psu you should be fine. otherwise how could they sell the system?
good choice on the upgraded psu as i'm sure it couldn't hurt. i'm sure just going from 2500-3200 shouldn't cause any problems. hopefully the bios that shuttle puts with this pc supports changing the fsb.

i haven't herd many good things about Shuttle mother boards,
but also i haven't ever owned one. but i personaly would go with a proven mobo.
the only weak link i see in your system is the PSU when i read the book to my epox mobo they reccomend a quality 400 watt psu.
but i've learned that for a stable OC you need a good PUS
