do people notice a difference in overclockability in the PIII?
the reason i ask this is because you don't see much about the PIII just the celerons.

Most people say that the cCO is best and this is the most common in the cpu databases I have seen so I would agree

I have a cBO 600E that will top out around 956mhz and will go up to around 37c ..and at that temp it won't be long before it will kik me out of a game to the desktop,
and I have a cCO 700E and I have no idea where it will top out..it is idling at 21c and 28 to 30c under load, at 1087mhz at 1.75v.
both chips were run in the same machine, and there is a big diff in temps...I don't know if my experience is average, but it makes a diff in my setup

Doc,

Kinda sounds like the hsf might be sitting a little better on the 700E. Thats a big difference in temps between the two. I'm assuming that the same hsf and thermal grease was used for both?

STEP TO STEP, CORE TO CORE - YOU GET WHAT YOU GET. SIMPLY LUCK OF THE DRAW.

YOU'LL FIND THAT WHEN A cCO CRASHES - IT CRASHES DIFFERENTLY TO A cBO. cB0'S LOCK SOLID AND cCO'S KICK OUT TO RE-BOOTS WITH EXCEPTIONS.

cC0 LIKES A LITTLE MORE VOLTAGE STABLY. cB0 DOESN'T
