Hi,
I just bought these for myself after researching and then searching for about a couple weeks. I've had them hooked up to my computer for just a couple days now and i've got to say i really am enjoying them. They are plenty loud enough and the subwoofer @ 100 watts delivers great bass. I decided on these against the z-640 (not enough power for me), z-560 (not 5.1), and z-680 (too expensive). They fit well in my price range @ about $150 and are definitely a good value, but they aren't "value" speakers if you know what i mean. You should look online at other peoples opinions, and see what, if any, common complaints they have. Me, i have no complaints about them. Good quality speakers (they are thx certified)at a good price by Logitech. I'm gonna watch all my movies again in 5.1 surround, they're so much better that way.

Well they ARE THX certified... I haven't seen a speaker set thats THX certified that had a lot of bad quirks.......

IF it did.. it wouldn't be certified lol........ I guess logitech has a good product. Do you know who they aquired to be able to make such good speakers?

I believe it was Labtec that logitech aqquired prior to introducing the z560's.

i checked those out when they first arrived at best buy,
but power wise they are not as loud as the 560's
or 640's but they still rock and sound great, i started out with the z-340's and was impressed with them for $45
but i am a die hard logitech fan if you want the z5300 then go for it.
if you want more power but only 4.1 then here is a great deal on the z560

z-560 $99 and every thing logitech cheap

The 560's are stronger, and probably louder. They're the 680's older 4.1 brother. As far as justdeals.com, I've seen that website before and looked at it before i made my purchase. They also sell on ebay, though i wouldn't buy from them. they only have a 3.81 rating on resellerratings.com and 4.36 lifetime, here's the link http://www.resellerratings.com/seller1685.html

Just read the reviews and comments for yourself and you'll probably see what i mean, and also the $99.95 price tag is for refurbished items. It's not new. Just thought you should know that before you might buy from them.

I've also read that logitech has bought out labtec, so i believe you are correct 12am.

I too bought some logitech speakers when they released their new line. I couldn't pass up 60 bucks for some damn good sounding 5.1 speakers (z640s), they make some of the best.

I've had my Z-5300's for about a week now, they're excellent speakers. Great bass and the sound coming from the satelite speakers are crisp and very clear compared to my previous Altec Lansing AVS500's.

Definately worth the money.

Yeah apparently the z560s are discountinued... I'm assuming the z5300s are taking over the price point because it cost excatly the same.

From a price stand point do anyone think the z560 will get cheaper? i been wanting to purchase these and this might be the opportunity. Also would anyone know how the z5300 rate compared to the z560?

z-560 > z-5300 in terms of LOUD, but i don't know about sound quality. i suspect z-560 is better at this too, because if i'm not mistaken, the satellites are the exact same as the z-680s, just black instead of grey.

the z-560s will only go UP in price, since they have been discontinued. they remain the best deal on speakers imo

Some dude said the Altec Lansing 641's were better?
is this true??

I'm really looking forward to a 5.1 speaker system though.
