View Full Version : over 1.9v vcore w/air?
I have been told DO NOT go over 1.9v vcore on my processor unless I have water cooling...basically my processor requires quite a bit of voltage to get over 2.2ghz (my setup is below) what I am wondering is is it safe to go over 1.9v I had it at 10.5x220 @ 2v core for a while just to test it and my idle was 40c and load was 44c...so now I am wondering if my temps are low is it safe to go that high? I don't wanna kill my processor...
I have ran my 2100 @ 2.05 volts on air for a few day's and it's still run's to this day folding 24\7 right now @ 1.85 volts and 2.35ghz. It's all about the temp's.
volts' temps'
1.8----55c
1.9----50c
2.0----45c
2.1----40c
Anything more then that for those voltages isn't going to be good and thats full load BTW. IMHO
k cool thanks a lot for the info...

dubtek the only thing i would worry about is accurate cpu core temps
as we all know this board only reports cpu socket temps, the actual core will run much much hotter :/
if you can tell somehow what the core temps are then there's no need to worry about it....
well I have this nexus hooked up with a probe on the bottom of the heatsink...so thats what I go by
This system gets to a good 48 or even 49 on max load... I'm not exactly shy to run it at 1.925volts at these temps, it's stable, what can I say?

AMD says anything below 90c is ok, so if your stable who cares?

And keep in mind the say this with the thought's no one is going to overclock them.

Hehe, I ran my duron 700 at 2,3v to test it, once long ago. Still didn't get more than 1,05 GHz. And it quickly got hot too (wonder why?). I had 3 fans pointed at the heatsink though.
Edit: Btw, that duron is still working.
