1. I would buy now. 700's are only around $130.00. Good for alot of fun with overclocking.

2. I dont know when the price drops are coming again. Intel just had one about 2 weeks ago I think (maybe it was a little longer ago cant remember)

3. I would go ahead and get the 700e, or you could take a gamble and go for an 800e, You maybe albe to get it at 1gig. If your lucky! It takes alot more to get higher overclocks then the 700's. Which makes it a little funner I guess. You get more satisfaction when you finally get it where you want it. But it can cause alot of frustration as well.

4. I would imagine by the end of the year or the beginning of next year, Intel will have there new line of P4's and PIII's as well from what I have heard. Supposed to be alot better.

Prices will continue to drop...they always do. Something new WILL come out...it always does. Question is, how patient are you.

Now is a good time to buy and a good time to wait. Motherboard prices are good and RAM prices are amazing. Newer processors and boards will probably take newer RAM technology, etc. meaning high prices so do what you want. Market is down so pricing is going to be getting better and better.

Intel traditionally drops CPU prices quarterly. Their last quarter was Feb. 1st and the next is May 1st. Intel needs to make room for the Tualatin P-III (which needs a new 200 fsb motherboard). So, they're sneaking the prices down on the P-III chips in preparation of it's May 1st release date. That my friend, is the ideal time, after the first of May I predict P-III prices to really tumble.
