Ok, I'll admit it, I'm jealous. What voltage are you using? Did you do a lot of tweaking to arrive at those RAM settings? My system seems to currently like 2, 3, 3, 7/9 the best, however, I'm not sure I've tried that exact combination that you are using. Maybe I should try it. I'm maxed out at 700/1071 MHz with my P-III and mobo comb, but still not 100% stable at that speed, so I'm quite open to tweaking and cooling suggestions.

Doc,

What are you getting for temps???

I've got the P3125 coming in a week or so, and I'll be able to wring out the 600E I've got here.

I did the trick Skip posted on the front page concerning removing the intel hsf with a case screw, (thanks, Skip, btw....) and the Arctic Silver is ready to go......(Where IS that mailman????)

I got it to post at 156 FSB (936MHz) but with the intel hsf the temp shot up to 53-55c quick, so I shut it right down. I think this bugger might have a gig in it with the better cooling.

the same rule of thumb applies to the P/// as the Celeron II concerning raising the voltage, does it not? (ie, no more that say 15% over default)

Thanks,

Mr B

Yea, I was so excited...I forgot to post the particulars...I mean I just tried it on a whim..and when it loaded windoz, I decided to post it before it changed it's mind..hehe
ok here it is...bios sez 158fsb, cas3 -3-3(bootup suggested cas2),cpu/pci/agp=4-3-1, vcore=1.80v,..idle temps= 28c mobo/25c cpu.
I haven't tried to bench it yet, I clocked it, posted, and went on a software call ( showed somebody how to work direct cd)...but I don't think I will have much trouble with benchies, and the real test...q3a & 3dmark...but we'll see, I always have nasty scores in 3dmark, because of my weak tnt2m64.
BTW, I forgot to mention the main reason I can get the high speeds is I am using Mushkin 128m rev2, and a stick of rev3 also 128m...funny thing, the rev2 has an eprom set for cas2@133 and rev3 is set for150...so if I decide to try cas2, then I get a suggestion to use cas3, and if I decide to use cas3, then the other stick makes it suggest cas2....one of the quirks of dissimilar ram i guess.
all this with just air cooling, and if you mount your new alpha correctly, you'll be amased at the effect.
As you can guess I am one happy camper....uh strike that.....I am pumped to the max.....and to be honest, words cannot describe the feeling of a 415mhz overclock. :-)

Ahhhh... I DO know the feeling.

Celeron cC0 600 @ 1053 @ 2.05v (running this at 1020 @ 1.95v, though, to be safe)

Yeah, I'm looking forward to getting that P3125, I've just got a good feeling about this chip.

Please post temps under load when you start benching.

Thanks.
