well the p!!! 700 cc0 is the best chip i have had in a while (i've had celerons and a couple of k6's since my pentium pro 200). i got it about 3 months ago.
out of the box it wouldnt oc at all. two days later, with a little work and no extra money i got it up to 1008 at 1.98 vcore. well three monthes have passed, and i run an intensive app any time i am not using the machine to continue burn in. so yesterday i tried the next step 1050. all the way up to 2.2 vcore(yikes!). well it wont even load windows at 1050. back down to 1008 at 1.98. all is well again. rock stable, as it was before. now i know with more effort it may indeed even exceed 1050. seeing as i am flat broke and am aware of electromigration etc. i would rather not bother trying to go faster at this point. as messing with this chip now will at worst leave me computerless. at best it will go slightly faster, which in the scheme of things is worthless anyways. why?, because there are now cpu's that far exceed the capability of this one.
now, you may say i do not have the true overclocking spirit. although, i already consider this an o/c success as far as my (usually bad) luck goes.

well none the less i am happy! dont think im complaining. im definatley not.
i just wanted to share the story of my latest cpu.
also, if you guys dont remember, i use a pep66 with delta 38cfm. thats what im comfortable with, so im sticking with it.
oh, please dont mention active cooling of some sort, thats not my ball game. anyways, like i said im happy!

furthermore, i am even more happy this forum exists! i always come here when i get a new cpu or have a question along the way. you guys are great!

well just wanted to let you guys know im still out here!

another happy customer,

Could be you need better ram for stability at high clock speeds..also I have heard great things about adding some thermal compound to the "greenie" motherboard chipset heatsink....the only drawback, is you have to remove the mobo to add the grease.
alos you could make subtle changes in the bios...maybe any one thing won't work, but maybe all of the tricks combined can get the job done...like adding a heatsink to the clock generator..some times it can be as simple as opening the side of the case...but don't give up on the chip, unless you are comfortable with it the way it is.
