which edge do i cover to get a 100Mhz FSB?

I replaced my old Gigabyte GA686BX (rev2) and SL2QF 333Mhz P2 with more crap stuff: GA-6VXE7+ and cBo 700Mhz Celemine. Seems like my old system was more responsive then the new one...oh well...

anyway... i was having fun and managed to get the plastic case form the P2 of by prying the corners of it apart with a flat head screwdriver... PCB isnt close enough to the edge to get scratched... oh yeah.. what did i want?

Which edge connector pin do i cover to get the FSB to 100Mhz?

and will a Asus PV?4X (urm slot1 via i think) do for 500Mhz? (along with a nice big home made heatsink)

I've got no HSF and slot1 mobo right now anyway.... unless someone can fix a bad flash on a GA 686BX (was looking for a replacement chip but its longer then most LX/BX bios chips)

Does your computer beep 3 times (depending on the bios type) and then try to access the floppy?
If so you can repair it by making a bootable floppy with an autoexec.bat file that automatically flashes the bios as most bios's keep enough information during a falsh to get ISA devices working so if you have an ISA vid card you can see what you are doing

Order a new bios chip..either from your board maker, or from Award...maybe $40.00 investment..look on awards pages and see if they can help out..who knows, you might end up with features the maker never implimented, but were always there.
