I am the prowd owner of a Dell dimensions xps t 550mhz!
What a proud owner I don't think so, Dell I Hear you cry, WHY, WHY DELL! I got the system when I was a total newbie and didnt know an arse from a tit! Now i'm stuck with it till I get some cash, and that could be quite a while!
Well my dell system is a pentium 3 550mhz 128mb 100mhz generic ram crap video card some NVIDIA RIA TNT2 model 64 thingie!
I have managed to overclock the jobie to 564mhz 103mhz fsb but any higher than that, ie only 124mhz fsb available through overclocking software, just crashes the system big time! I am unable to do anything on the mother board as there are no jumpers at all, and BIOS settings for clock speed, fsb and core cpu voltage just arent there, disabled by good old DELL!!
Has anyone had any experience of overclocking one of these trash cans and how did they do it!
Also is it possible to change the core cpu voltage through software or some other method any help would be much apreciated.
I don't think temp is a problem as I have taken off the side case and stuck a huge fan by the side of the system untill my processor fan i ordered arrives thanx SpleNdID

you can't change voltage via windows software but of you go over to ww.overclockers.com.au ,they have an article on making a voltage selecter for slot 1 boards, unfortunately I doubt it is your chip stopping a 124mhz bus working, it is more likely the hard drive as they don't usually like out of spec bus's, though the new ibm drives are quite tolerant of it but also your video card can be unstable at an 83mhz agp clock
