hello. run nfs underground at 1280x1024 .

now when I play with all settings on and at high i get 40FPS which is ok but sometimes it drops to under 30FPS and the game lags/jerks for 2 seconds or so...

now when i switch of the last 4 options (particle/motion blur etc) and set some settings to medium the game runs at 50FPS and never drops below 38FPS. however sometimes there is still a shotr 1 second lag at particular sections of certain levels.

comon is this normal?

only had the game for 3 days.

OHHHH: i check for patch, says patch found, download patch then it say spatch installed. i search for patch patch found install done etc etc repeat till no end. how do i check which version I have!?!!!

other games work fine benchmarks give good results! 5450 3dmark03 etc etc so my hardware is working :)

page file is set to 250MB but i got 1GB ram and the game only uses about 98MB ram (in task manger)
are there some tweaks for the game?

fresh winxp install. tweaked with no background apps (well just the ones I need) even services disablled etc etc.

this game is laggy!

I set almost everything on lower detail just to get a good feeling when racing.

i just read when u seleft AF AND AA manually the fps improve?!!! weird. gonna try it.

oh and for a lot of people the game is not laggy!!! just a few people (especially high end ATI cards?)

and patch you can download as a exe file or something or how can i check what version i am running.

when you play the game it tells you the version number on that splash screen where the music kicks in, but I get same, generally good fps and good playabillity, but odd time through a race fps will just drop for a split second then carry on as if it were just a cruel joke

i never patched mine but it ran fine at 4xFSAA, 16xAF 1024x768. Only 6xFSAA brought it to its knees lol.

I never used motion blur, though the rest of the options were always on.

motion blur sucks. do you wanna see where you are racing or do you want everything washed out. kind of a lame option I think.

DAM UR USING FOOBAR2000. respect
i suspect you go hydrogenaudio a lot and use mpc !! like me :)

no way, motion blur is awsome, you get a real sence of speed with it in like you would in a real car...
the faster you drive the more things blur.
I love it and havent turned it off since i gave it a try.

thing i hate most about the game, and you will do.. the once you get past 75 races, no matter what car you have or how fast it is, ALL the COMPUTER CARS are faster... thing i made it to like 85 before i got to ****ed off at the game.. havent played it in like a week

i had that same problem with patching. the easiest way would do get the .rtp file and get a rtpPatcher and install it manually. there site never works.
