Globe Win
Alpha
ive got an pentium 3 800EB flip chip that i am wanting to O/C....(by what LITTLE i can....
=( "shoulda got an E not EB) on an Asus
CUSL-2 Mobo,
Perhaps YOU can introduce me to a better heat sink w/ fan other than the one's that i've listed/heard about so far that are excellent coolers, I'm not looking to spend any more than $30
Later and Thanx!!
Spend whatever it takes and get an Alpha. I've tried the rest, I run the best.

The newer Vantec HSF's are rated well also...but they do come with the loud Delta fan :)
you can't go off over people's opinions and experiences as from reading a lot of comparative reviews you see massive variations from the alpha's beating the global win's to the other way round and I have seen a few with the orbs coming on top which is just lousy testing. go with what ever you can afford, if you only have £/$20 or so get a global win if you can afford an alpha get an alpha, from the reviews though it does seem that alpha's generally beat a Global Wins with slower fans but the Global win seems to come out on top with faster fans, may be to do with the fact that alpha's are anodised but have a greater surface area

There's a picture of a cooler called a Noise-Control Silverado. Of course I'm getting that info from a benchmark but read the whole shootout of 23 cooling systems... methinks I put a link to it.

The taisol heatsinks are good, either the 734 or 742, they both have quiet fans if you dont like the noise of the fops, but still push a fairly respectable 21cfm. I have one on a piii 700 @ 1050, and it never goes over 34 at load.

Well if your not looking at spending more then $30 then the Alpha Cooler would proably not be your cup of tea as they tend to start at $33 and upwards plus you have to add delivery ontop of that.
The GlobalWin FOP-38 is probably the best budget cooler available at the sort of money your looking at.
I personally would borrow the extra money and go for the alpha, the more money you spend now will pay off in the long run. Don't skimp on coolers as this is protecting the most vital part of your system.
Go with the Alpha.
Hope this helps.

Ah yes, but the opinions of the Senior members will probably coincide with various testing. I have the Alpha 6035 with the Delta 38.....it's loud, but NICE and cool.

Beg Borrow or Steal to get the few extra dollars for the Alpa. It is a quality unit and I really like the clip that holds it on. It is easy to work with unlike the Global win and others which require to much pressure. The only reason the global win beats the alpha by a little bit is because of the very noisy delta fan, you could put one on an alpha to but the alpha does a fine job while not blowing out your ears.

i have tried quite a few hsf combos...the best i have found is the Alpha ultra PEP66...with a 38cfm delta (loud as hell) fan...if you can stand the noise, its the best combo you can get.

Yeah good attention grabber headline, but it hacks me off that you have no news for every overclocker. You just want some help on a fan.
There are alot of people who require help, and just as many people willing to give you the best help they can, so use an apropriate title next time please.

I think Chad said it best, as I too have tried all kinds, and nothing comes close to an alpha P3 125 (slot one).
And if I got a s370 chip, you can bet I would get a pep66 or whatever the best alpha makes for the 370.
go with the best, or watercool it

I am planning to clock my Celeron 600E to around 800 MHz, and maybe higher, do you think the Alpha 6035 with Delta 38 would be good for it?
