i have p3 450 and i want to clock it to 550\600 i have set the dip switch to 550 but when i restart it still sayes 450 can anyone help i think i have a a-max board

That's only going to make voltage compensate for a higher multiplied procesor I'd say. You're going to have to push the FSB up to about 120 MHz to get close to 550. 120 will get you 540Mhz.

that sounds like you are trying to change the multiplyer which you can't do on intel chips becasue they are locked and will run at there set speed regardless of what you set, the only way to overclok them is the fsb you should be able to get a 112mhz fsb quite easily for around 500mhz and try for around 125mhz, though this can casue problems with hardrives and vid cards and might be too much for the chip
