Hello guys, I have a dell dimension with a pIII 700 in it, I was told that the dell motherboards are not overclockable, and I have not been able to find any information to show otherwise. So my question is can it be overclocked after all? and if not what motherboard do you guys recommend I get? that can be overclocked?
Thank you very much for your time,

Does your CPU Case have 5+ PCI slots on the back? It should be ATX based case.. You have a P3 700 Slot1 or Flip chip?

Ok great.. you got ATX then. Most aftermarket mobos are ATX anyways. The most well known and reliable mobos are "Abit" and "Asus".
In Abit, Abit BX133, or Abit BE6-2 are very good. They are built for overclocking and are very high performance. But I think Abit BX133 is FCPGA..
I heard that Microstar and Supermicro mobos of BX chipset are good too.
In ASUS, Asus CUSL-2 is great.. I don't know much about it but they say it's very good.

Might also suggest an Abit SH6? it has the 815E chipset, and is in my opinion a very stable slot one board, and if you are going to change the motherboard, then you should change the power supply, and I would also recomend the Enermax 451, which is by the way P4 ready, with the auxilary 12v connector. With dell's connector you will need a power supply.
The SH6 goes from 66 to 250mhz fsb, in 1mhz increments, has agp4x,ata100, and a 1/2 agp devider.
Hope this helps
