View Full Version : My computer has gone all weird

Ok, the other day my video card cooler thingy that I made fell off, so I was fixing it while my computer was on (big mistake) and 2 bad things happened

1.) I got a really nasty fan nip (that isn't the problem though)
2.) I touched the motherboard and I felt a static discharge (yikes! Things go bad from here)

So when it zapped, the system shut off. So I turned it back on and it started up fine, once I logged on to windows with my account, the usuall start up programs started, apache, winmysqladmin, and folding @ home. The big problem was that F@H was running (so was everything else) when it crashed and it got stuck on the "benchmarking" stage and locked up my system. So I shut it off (via the power strip) and restarted. This time I shut folding off before it locked up. So now, I was trying to access phpmyadmin which I would normally go to "http://localhost/phpmyadmin" But this time, for some reason it wanted to open up a google page and to connect to the internet, I said no, becuase it is local, but I got a "page could not be displayed." So, I tried again, but this time I connected to the internet, and it connected to google and took me to "http://www.localhost.net.au/" Everything else on my localhost or "c:\WWW" where apache is directed to works fine. Does anyone know what I can do? I cleared all temp internet files, and wiped out phpmyadmin and unzipped a fresh copy, still the same thing, I tried making a sub folder and unzipping a fresh copy in there, still nothing, I tried renaming it to just "phpmy" still nothing. But everything else on my localhost works, does anyone know what this could be?

Thanks

whew! good thing no one has posted, I just turned on my computer and it all was solved. Everything works now. This is the strangest thing I have ever seen. I didn't do a thing and it is all working.
