View Full Version : Boot linux from a portable HDD posible?

Well i got a portable 20gb usb 2 drive and was wondering if i could install mandrake9 on it and use it and not kill my windows install. Ist this possible? any thing special i have to do. Plz post?

as long as you can boot from a USB device you can boot linux from that drive
when you install Linux it will want to load Grub, or Lilo onto your Primary hard drive, so you can pick between windows and linux when you boot your machine.
