slow down there fella. First give us some info. What motherboard do you have? Do you have the stock heatsink on your 450? etc. In my opinion and hopefully everyone elses opinion on this forum, overclockling is definetley worth it. You get extra speed for a lower price. The FSB settings can be found in your bios. Since your processor is multiplier locked you should leave the dip switches alone. Also make sure all your other components can handle the overclock. Especially RAM. I hope I have helped you. Happy overclocking.
i have been told its amax board i pc100 ram 128mb
voodoo 3 3000 with tv out
ultraplex40 scus reader / sound blaster live card
8.5gig harddrive fujitsu and there is a heatsink and fan on proseser
is that all what you need to know
thanks hetoge

I just got a p3 450 and i got it to 600 (133fsb) @ 2.3v with stock heatsink/fan. Runs great!!!
Well I don't know anything about amax boards. All you gotta do is go into your bios look for the FSB setting. Should be on 100Mhz now. Jack it up a little, try 112Mhz. Boot into windows and make sure it runs stable for a while, run seti and any other programs that put stain on the cpu, play a little quake or something. if that works restart and boost the FSB higher. Keep doing this until it becomes unstable or it wont boot. just keep it at the highest stable FSB setting. Good luck. Any other questions feel free to ask.
Just thought of something. Your processor may be able to do 600 or higher but since you have 100 Mhz ram it might hold you back a bit. You would be extremely lucky to get a stick of 100Mhz ram that will do 133 well. But you can always buy some new ram.
