The only overclocking I've heard about for P4's was don't with an Asus P4T board. I just ordered a P4 1.4, 2 128mb dimms and the Asus board tonight. I know that they are going to completly the setup of the P4 and I'll have to buy it all over again, but I wanted it NOW!!! Be cool if I can overclock it even a little.

The only way to overclock a dell comp (only done a P3 though) is through software as all bios settings and cpu jumpers have been removed to stop people burning out the mobo and chip :O) like we would do that!
Try a program like CPU Cool (http://www.podien.de) this alters the fsb, you will ahve to enter the mobo/chip type, make ect. I don't know what that is for the P4! For my dell dimensions xps t 550 it is:
Mainboard: Intel
Mainboard type: seatle BX-2
PLL Manafacture: Cypress
PLL Type: W149
Hope this is helpfull, you may have some probs increasing the fsb as components like ram, video card, hard drive have a tendancy to lock up at higher fsb but good luck. Dell comps tend to run quite hot to so a bit of ventilation and removal of big plastic bits around the cpu may be needed.

WHY ON EARTH DID YOU BUY A P4?????????????????
You realize that they are scheduled to start comming out with ddr boards for the P4. Not to mention that every test I have seen has shown an equally priced AMD system superior. I am not jumping on the AMD bandwagon yet but a p4 is the last thing I would waist my money on. There are plenty of good p3 systems that would be right with it in testing for a lot less money. Also why did you get an OEM comp instead of making your own? I am very anti P4 as you can see, and almost as much agains OEM systems as well. But I feel I have a right to be and after you do some research you might end up feeling just like me.
I dont know why people slag the p4 so much ITS THE FASTEST CHIP OUT THERE sure its a little overpriced but man look at the memory bandwidth with thosechips ***** if i had the cash to blow id buy 1 slap a geforce 3 in there and your untouchable watch 3d mark 2k1 fly
celly 566@986 it aint no p3 but for 60 bucks lol

...and a Honda mb5 had the highest redline...doesn't mean that it has any horsepower though. The only thing that I have seen the P4 shine in is memory bandwidth. Bandwidth is great but if your FPU processor isn't up to the task, then it's just a high redline and no horsepower. MB5 was a moped with an 10,500 rpm redline BTW.

with a geforce 2gts ill take any of you p4 guys on. My T-bird beats the p4 on all benchmarks except the memory benchmark.

a gf3 and p4 would be a killer for games though.. and if you got money for an OEM system.. well then...
