I'm using food coloring too.

I tried it out a while back, and it looked great.

However, after asking around a bit more, I discovered that many people who try it find it turns a brackish brown colour after a few months, and stains the tubes brown too. Mine never did this (Light blue), but I removed it soon afterwards anyways.

I don't know if it is made to hold it's color or not, especially with constant temperature changes.

I have also heard of it clogging the jet tubes on cascades.

Hmm, well I'll be using blue so hopefully nothing bad will happen. I also have a WW, so no tubes to worry about. I'll give it a try as soon as I can get my hands on some blue food dye.
