Cable and high ping

While playing SOF II my ping goes way up high and from time to time i lose my connection.

Did you ever run one of those cable tweak registry hacks? If so, try to undo it.

Also, if you have a Motorola Surfboard, you could try going to http://192.168.100.1 and check your signal levels. If you post the levels, I can see if they are out of spec.

Also, if you run Kazaa or any other p2p program in the background, disable it completely before playing any games, as the strain on your upload bandwidth may cause high pings.

I have a fresh install no tweaks or anything and my modem is a 3com something I don't really know I got it for free, no p2p at all
