It looked like they had some pretty good deals on the front page of the website.

Their 'one day sales' are getting kind of redundant...they have them every couple of days now. There's some good stuff though, so you can't really complain, but the sales aren't massive price drops either, usually just a few bucks.

Seriously, their "one day sales" start the day before and they have them every third day. What a joke.
If you haven't already noticed, NewEgg has also added a bunch of other gimmicks to their site lately. "Complimentary items," "Extended warranty qualified!" and "Combo specials"
They're still the best on-line store out there, IMO, but these tricks are just cheesy. I'm knocking them down to a 10/10. ;)

Speaking of extended warranties and newegg...
Has anyone else noticed they offer extended warranties on memory with a lifetime warranty?
I dont really understand what theyre offering with this. It says in the warranty:
All applicable retail products will have an additional 1-year warranty extension once the MFG warranty has expired.
So since my lifetime warranty doesnt expire, how does this work... If they made it so the warranty was with them instead of the MFG, that would be cool. But it specifically states in other parts of the warranty that the extended only occurs AFTER the MFG warranty has expired, which in this case is never. Hmm...

It's a cdrw/dvdrom combo drive. Walmart doesn't even sell the combo drives.
**clarification, does sell the liteon combo drives (they do have samsung drives, which could be a rebadge, but they're nowhere near cheaper then newegg... http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=2408810&cat=4457&type=19&dept=3944&path=0%3A3944%3A3951%3A3955%3A4457 **

unfortunately the link you have is for a full retail price and not when its on SALE, my local Walmart was having a red sticker sale with the Liteon 4X DVDRW for $79.99. You are definetly right, Newegg is a reliable, not always cheaper place to buy staff online. For hard drives, or any recordable media, their prices are often crazy, but other hardware staff yes......
