I've a strange problem with a PIII 800EB on (two different) Msi 6337 815E Pro: during work system reboot.
The Cpu isn't overclocked and work with a TT Golden Orb and silicon compound at nominal speed (Fsb 133 1.7v).
Memory are PC133 setted @Cas3, Mobo's are updated at last Bios release (ver1.3) and temperatures are 43C Cpu@full load, Mobo 27.
Some months ago, with the old OEM Hsf, the temperature of the Cpu went over 120 degree C!
All Mobo was tested with my C2 600 cb0 @746 rock stable!!
I've tried with different Ps (235-250-300w) but it's the same :-(
What you think about?
Thank's for your support

Time to abuse the warranty. If you are getting spontaneous reboots at nominal speed and voltage, then it suffered thermal damage when it overheated before.

Thank's Newbie_Doo,
sometimes I've also BSOD but aren't memories coz I've tested and are different module Pc133 (2x256 or 2x64).
Can you exclude surely Mobo Probs?
Excuse me but I'm getting crazy! :->

You stated you are at default voltage and FSB. Other CPUs work fine in the board, and it isn't power supply dependent. Barring something odd with one of your PCI devices or AGP card, I would say that it is likely the CPU. P3's don't like 120 Celsius.

120C ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OUCH. You sure that's Degree Celsius or Farenheits?? 100C is at water boiling point i believe. and 120C would be like molesting your CPU chip bad.. real freakin bad.

The temp on your processor shouldn't just go to 120F if your not overclocking. And if you mean 120C then I'm surprised you didn't see flames shooting out that thing. And your right MilkPowder 100C is the temp water boils at.

Think of it this way...You didn't loose a processor, you gained a small frying pan.

The Cpu temperature reported by Pc Alert III (Msi temps monitor) went over 128 degree C (the report was -127 degree C) coz the hsf didn't fit properly for the "small Black bump" on PIII.
