thats great stuff for $43!!!!!!!!!!! I paid about that on ebay! pay no attention to the 2.5 latency, mines at 2-2-2-6 at 190fsb and will be much higher once I install win 2k on my nf7-s! you should get 200fsb minimum, more like around 220 with that! you can use 2.5-2-2-6 if you have to, and pump 2.9v and itll still own whatever ram you had for just $43! for anyone that spent $200, even $300 on ram, I am sorry :(
Ya not bad but....
I just bought a gig Corsair of pc3200 2-3-3-6 today. No matter what Voltage I use I can't get into windows at 2-2-2-6!!!
I have had the pc3500 c2 when it came out and that ram would push 225 easily. I do like Corsair BTW but I think the days of getting killer ram even when buying the "cheaper" model are over with this Company.
They are so big now that even MicroCenter has a fuulllll stock of their ram! They have to be cutting corners (I do trust you get what you pay for) because it is growing and bean counters want to cash in... those are the people that RUN a business.

I spent exactly twice that price on that exact ram about 3 months ago.

I can almost guarantee you won't get that RAM running 220 2-2-2-6 at 2.9v. Sorry, but lowering it to 2.5-2-2-6 most likely won't stabilize it either. I have a 512mb stick of Corsair PC3200 Value RAM, and it's decent stuff, as it'll hit low 230's using 2.5-3-3-7 timings. However, mine wouldn't run tight timings at 200. 190 is a different ballgame from 200 and above.

Have you guys tried 2-2-3-6? I can't get my HyperX to do 2-2-2-5, but it'll do 2-2-3-5 without a problem.

I paid $60 for 256mb stick of pc3500 XMS series about 6 months ago. I wish I could get it at that price for now.
Looks like a good stick for an AMD system.

It's most likely CH-5. It won't run at 2-2-2-5 unless you underclock it a lot.

I hear that, I just paid $144 for my stick of Corsair (CMX512RE-3200LL) and last time it was only $134 but it was still cheaper than newegg / pricewatch $155. I got it at zipzoomfly for anyone look for a good deal on it (if you can call it a good deal the way the prices have been moving).
Or you could get Mushkin's PC3200 Blue (mid grade) for $44 at newegg and it WILL do 2-2-2-5 with stock voltage and it comes with heat spreaders. I've been using Mushkin for years and have never had a memory problem.

I paid $75 for 512 hyperx In April :) That's still the best deal Ive ever gotten (maybe except for my $65 a7v8x, but that was refurbed). Only catch is that it's pc2700, but as with most 2700 it's basically just underclocked 3200... or maybe it's the other way around. Anyway it does 185mhz at 2-2-2-6 and I've yet to push it very high at 2.5-3-2-7 (waiting for new psu) so Im not complaining.
Anyway what I'm trying to say is now is really a horrible time to buy ram. This is the only compnonent in my PC whose price has gone UP nearly $30 since I bought it. I'm sure the price will go back down soon, so Id suggest waiting a bit before you invest in RAM.
Also as far as RAM timings go, I think that there is more benefit in lowering your timings and upping the fsb than the other way around. Just my $.02
nioce price for the corsairs. theyre getting as cheap as the buffalos too now.
for 512 models i really like:

winbond ch-5 chips. newegg stopped listing them as winbond chips and the price went down, however, i bought a few and still got winbond ch-5
edit:
wow they arent xms. nevermind they arent as cheap as these buffalos :D

can this really kick my Kingston HyperX PC3500 that runs at 200FSB?
not sure never owned hyperx. but i think hyperx also used winbond chips. in fact most of the fast ram uses winbond anyways. but i dont think kingston and corsair (big name brands) can beat the starting prices of buffalo ram.
me thinks this is the 512 version? link (http://shop4.outpost.com/product/3320942)
59.99 after MIR :D
