I just took out my 800eb so I could put a 700e.
I oc'd my 800 to 875, my settings where 146 fsb, cas 2 ram which is crucial ram. had my voodo3 3500 at x2

I have my 700 up to 882 and when I run 3d mark it crashes to the desktop.

fsb = 126 cas 2 ram again

My mb is asus p3v4x...any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

What Vcore are you running? Also, what kind of cooling?

I am having a similar problem with my p3 450....its at 133fsb when it crashes 3dmark....bring it down to 128 and its fine....i think my prob is the video card abit siluro geforce 2.....133fsb*2/3(only 1:1 and 2:3 available in my bios) = 88mhz agp only suppose to be 66...just an idea

Just out of curriosity, why did you get rid of the 800EB. I know you can't get just as much out as the 700E but I got my 800EB running at 1002mhz as I'm typing and with just fan cooling. I am just wondering if you bought a new processor for this. I'd tell you there were probably better ways to improve your comp for less money.

Give it some more Vcore, 1.8, 1.9, 2.0 max. - 0.05 at a time. Check temps.

It's been my experience that when overclocked, above 37-38c is hot.....my cBO gets unstable above 37c overclocked, but when not clocked, 42c is fine,( I checked it out with a cheap 1 fan heatsink, and cheap grease so the cpu would get warm)

Did you ever find out why your 3dmark crashes back to your desktop? If you do pls let me know how to resolve this issue. My system is pretty much similar to yours.
Tks much!

You need to give it more juice and better cooling. My PII 700 is at 1.95V and has been at 994 MHz since October. From July to October the core was at 1.9V to run it at 970 MHz. My Alpha PEP66 keeps the core at 34C max. It will crash if it goes higher.
