2500+ with 9800 pro vs p4 2.6c with 9600 pro

What is the better system for gaming, my cousin has the 2.6c with 9600 pro and i got the 2500+ with 9800 pro, both have corsair pc 3200 512 mb LL

he says his pc is better but i think an amd 2500+ with 9800 pro really beats the **** out of a 2.6 c with 9600 pro

i got the abit nf7-s and he has the abit ic7 motherboard

i asked him to check the fps on battlefield but he says he doesnt care so hes probs scared i have a higher fps lol

i got my amd 2500 oc'd to 2.2 ghz btw and he his 2.6c to 3.2 ghz if i remember right.

lol hope i picked the right combo, my 2500+ with 9800 pro costed same as his 2.6c with 9600 pro, well about same

Although they'll both be fast enough in games, yours is most likely faster. Ask him to benchmark with 3dmark2k1 and 2k3. Real world performance probably won't show that much difference (except in really hardcore games), but 3dmark will help you show him up.

They are fairly close but the nod would have to go to the 2500/9800 combo due to the bandwidth the 9800 has over the 9600. Few if any games would benefit from the bandwidth of the P4 over the 2500 because most games are video card limited these days. The 2500 has more than enough bandwidth and processing power to play any available game without any issues...

the 2500+/9800pro combo is much much faster than a 2.6C/9600pro

hell even my 9700pro :D kicks the crap out off the 9600pros i had one after my ti4200 i hated it :D

your 9800 combo owns his combo.
Comparitive example.
My friend had a 1.8ghz northwood (512k l2 400fsb) with a ti4200 (8k in 01) After I showed him how to oc and upgraded his system to ddr (11k)
Other friend has a 2.8ghz c with a radeon 9200 (4.3k in 3dmark 01)
the system with the 4200 beats that other system so bad in gaming that it takes 2 hours to stop laughing. Espically the 2.8ghz still claiming he has an advantage in gaming. His proc was mch faster than other at beginning.
Its mainly the card that makes the game performance.
