this place is fine for the thread

that's a pretty nice score for a 9600xt. basically the only thing you can do is overclock your videocard more and same goes for your system.

try the cat 3.6 or 3.7 drivers they are the best for 3dmark
3.6 best for 2k1
3.7 best for 2k3

thanks for the reply :)

btw, after few days, i feel that my comp has slowed down a tiny bit since i bought from day 1. coz i have been installing programs, downloading animes etc... is this normal?

sorry n00b ques : if i want to do a good format (wipe everything out) , do i boot from bootdisk ? (which bootdisk? - win 98 or ..?)

Yes it is normal for your computer to feel slow after you installed lots of programs etc...

2k1 is mostly a system based program so the more you can push your system the better your score will be

2k3 in the other hand is mainly based on videocard performance. pushing your videocard in 2k3 will be the easyest way to up the score

2k3 does not rely much on system performance so the score boost you wll see in 2k3, if you push your system, will be much less than the score you obtained in 2k1 by pushing your pc

yeah i increased my bus 50mhz and only got a 10 point gain in 3dmark 03.
I do however get 17k in 3dmark 01 now :)
only 5.57k in 03 :(
Also remember 3dmark01 likes gpu increases more so than mem.
Your 3dmark 01 score was around that of my non oc'd 9500pro. So that sounds fine.
Im suprised your only scoring 13.5 with a 5900.... after all my 5800 is getting 17k. Then again you have the board I used to have.... I would destroy that board if I wasn't going to sell it..... It would never get past a bus of 175. I was still able to get 15.5k with that board though.
None the less though ur 5900 should be getting quite a bit higher than that.....

wow nice to hear :) try raising the cpu voltage a bit and see if you can eek out a bit more. I just broke 16k and im so stroked :) it sure felt really good to see such high numbers :) its gonna be hard to beat your score though. I may need really expensive ram thatll do 230fsb at 2-2-2-11. dont know if theres much ram thatll run at those timings at such a high fsb. however im getting tweakmonster ramsinks for my ti4200s ram to gain another few hundred marks. 17k is sooooooo hard, I wonder if I can even touch that!

LOL i need faster ram too then ill be breaking 19K i might also get some new ram sinks for my 9700

i like the zalman 80 hcp it works so well......
I think the barton helps quite a bit. I did get a score of 743 or 783 in 3dmark 03 (the cpu test)
I still have some juice left in mine. I will run it out tomorrow. I can already see 17.5k at least.
