I accidently stepped on a thermometer I used to measure water temperature of my cooler. I'm a bit concerned about the health risks of this. I don't know if the thermometer used mercury or not. I didn't notice any silvery liquid but little black beads. Anyone know what type of thermometer this is and how dangerous it can be? I was careful to clean up the mess with some paper towels. Anything else I need to do? Thanks

Mercury tends to clump, so the black beads were most likely mercury. Mercury is VERY VERY poisonous, so if you start to feel bad, go to teh hospitol asap.

well beads was the wrong term to use. Whatever the material was it was hard... not liquid like mercury.
