Planetside Tips & Tricks?

Hi,

I just picked this game up yesterday & am starting to play tongiht. I have not started yet though. Any tips or helpful hints on what to do?

Is there an expansion pack out for this that I am missing?

Hey. I use to play PS untill it started backsliding. That was months ago and things may be alot different now. Also there is an expansion pack. It's called Core Combat. But from what I've heard, it's not worth picking up.Here's a few tips.

Go to the VR and gain a few BR ranks. You should have enough points to get a cert or two. Like you can go Medium assault and then heavy assault. Can't go wrong with that. Or engineer and a vehicle cert.

Medpacks are your friend, even if you're a medic. They can give you an instant 25 hp boost in the heat of battle and that's where it counts. Carry at least 3.

Snipers are a hard type to play in this game. PS has no body-damage type deal, so a shot to the head is the same as a shot to the toe. And it usually takes 2 shots to kill a person.

MAXes are powerhouses. They're designed for one thing only: to kill. And unfortunately, that's all they do. You will have to rely on your teammates for everything. From transportation, to repairs, and to hacking, the only thing you can do is shoot and jump.

If you're a tank driver, learn that your greatest resource is engineering and a very good gunner. With these two combos, you can literally go for hours in a single tank and not die.

Aircraft are good, but only when they are moving. The longer you hover, the more of a target.

And finally, squad up. In the beginning you'll more than likely only have 2 certs. You'll need teammates in order to help you gain EXP.

The rest is more of a do-it-yourself-and-die lessons. Go out there and kill. :)
