View Full Version : Yet another P3 700@933, but at 1.6v.
Works great idles at 23 with my Alfa pep66. All I had to do was burn it in at 800 for a couple of days and what do you know it hits 933 no problem. THIS CHIP RULES!
p.s. It's a co stepping.

Way to go Dude....I like undervolting when I can..it makes the chip last longer. Somehow, I think you will be doing a gig in no time.
Hit 966 no problem. Went to a gig and had a windows registry problem. That's a tell tale sign of needing more voltage, right? If it is I need a new slot one adapter.
registery errors can be either heat or voltage, but seeing as with that chip yout are probabally only getting up to about 45oC max and more likely to be under 40oC then I would say that you need to knock the voltage up 0.05 or 0.1v. I got my cel 600 cCO to 900 with 1.6v stable, but I had to burn it in at 600 with 2v for a couple of months it would not do this out of the box, it even runs stable at 750 with only 1.3v

Honestly my guess would be memory problems, what FSB are you at, what kind of Mem do you have, and whats is it rated at?

My under load temps never go above 34 with case on and only one case fan. Idle temp is usually 24. My fsb is 143 when i get the windows registry error. My mobo switches a divider on when past 133 that makes the ram run at 100fsb and same with pci and agp. My ram is pretty much junk. One nec pc100 128mg and one hyundai pc133 128mg. Temp is not the problem at all. My alfa pep66 keeps everything cool, not to mention the 38cfm fan that keeps me awake at night.
You can try to use just one stick of memory at a time. This trick allows me to go to higher FSBs.
dude I got my PIII 700 at 980mhz with 1.6v. with the PIII FHS that came with it. It idles at 27 degrees celcius but under max load it's around 46 degrees. (bus speed 140). I had it boot at 1015mhz (bus speed145) with 1.6v. but windows wouldn't recognize my key board. Now I'm trying to get the temp. down a bit, everyone tells me it's too high under load.
nice dood,
I would get some better cooling
1. to allow for more ocing,
2. so the chip doesn't suffer from the heat any longer
good luck,
I have my slot 1 700e oced to 1085, check it out
