What is the Raid controller search for everytime I boot.
Can I turn off the search, or do I live with it.

Just that the boot is interupted for the 5-7 seconds is annoying to me

There is a setting in the bios, to disable the "Serial ATA Controller". I believe it's under Integrated Peripherals, Onboard PCI Device. I would imagine that disabling it would make it so it no longer searches for any SATA connections, it would seem to make sense, although I can't be sure, as my only hard drives are SATA and I'd rather not "check" :p

But I am asking about the Raid controller, not the Sata status of the hard drives

can I turn off the search for the Raid controller?

If you do what he said, it won't search for RAID controller. But only turn it off if you don't use SATA, of course :)

I already did it and it worked. No longer searches-faster boot time
