Ok, I have my soldering Iron, and I have some good silver solder, these will work fine I know.

My problem comes in flux, and wire. I was planning on pikcing up some 30GA copper wire from radioshack, this should be fine?

But, I'm totally lost on the flux. What does it do?

I also need a decent multimeter for volt mods, I'm looking pay under $50 and preferably under $30 for the multimeter.

You put the flux on your solder and it helps it melt the solder and provide a good joint. A lot of solders have flux built into them I have used them plenty of times and never had a problem!

The purpose of flux is to clean surfaces that are going to be joined together to enhance wetting by solder in the molten state.
I don't even usually use it.

Ratshack has some good digital multimeters, i use one from there that was like 40$.

what do you even need the wire for?

Soem of the mods for my motherboard are pretty long, I don't just wanna use the solder for that, plus this is insulated so I won't worry if it touches the board.
