Why? I don't want to waste an ATX PSU to jumpstart my prommy.

According to NVentiv's website:

"Only the Chip-controller, 2 low noise fans and a small heating element (5W) is driven from the PSU, and this represents a workload of approx. 1.5A at 12V equal to the load of an extra Harddisk."

So I'll just snip whatever connector is on the PSU and connect a molex connector instead.

Don't you mean a 12V, 1.5A, 18W PSU or a 12V, 0.4A, 5W PSU?

I'd look for a 12V DC wall cube for this, but measure the voltage because some don't regulate well at all. You could use a 15-18V wall cube and drop it down with a 3-pin voltage regulator chip, either a fixed 12V one or an adjustable one (LM317 or maybe an LM350 for more current).

I found what I was looking for and it's only $8.50

I just ordered it

Input: 100-240 Vac.
Output: 12 Vdc
1.66 Amps
20 Watts.

It's pretty cool since I can mount it inside my case, and run the cord through one of the PCI bracket slots.
