I booted into windows as usual, and then 5 minutes later i get lines all over and my computer shuts off. I tryed to turn it on again, and no boot nothing. I opened up my computer took out my Celeron II 700 and put my older Pentium III 450 in and worked fine, but still lines. My Celeron doesn't work anymore and the video has lines all over. Also when i opened up the case, i saw what looked like a fan hanging from a wire attached to the video card. I was told it was a "heatsink". Could that affect it?
Here are my system specifications :
Celeron II 700 (now Pentium III 450)
ABIT BF6 Motherboard (440BX)
MICRON 128MB PC133
ATI RADEON 32MB DDR
2 ---10 GB Western Digital Hard drives
36X Aopen CDrom
Lucent Technologies 56k modem
Ess AUDIODRIVE 1868 ISA
It definetly is not drivers because it does it when the computer starts up. To try to correct the problem, i went to radioshack and purchased 2 486 heatsinks and put them on the graphics chip and the ram. Still same problem. I went to a forum and i was recommended to do that.
I am quite upset, because i paid 200 dollars a couple months ago and now it suddenly does this?
I appreciate you looking at this very much. Thank you for your time.
