Any feedback on how the new version compares with the classic?

Looks like the new version detects memory timings now as well. Trouble is, they aren't detected correctly on my board. What I set in the bios always jives with CPU-Z, but memtest86's timing detection is somewhat off. It might be specific to my chipset (KT600) because Sandra detects the same incorrect timings that memtest86 does and Sandra has known compatibility issues with the KT600 chipset.

Can someone explain how to set-up and use Memtest86 v 3.0 in DETAIL. I followed the instructions and I can't get it to work. Any help is appreciated.

Put this file on a Floppy Disk.

Download - Pre-Compiled package for Floppy (DOS - Win) - 54.9 KB - MD5 : f85e4a553a1b278e165d02b3fb897aa3

Then set-up BIOS Boot-priority to Boot-up on Floppy 1st.

Then Boot-up with Floppy in Floppy Drive.

That should be it. It will load up the same time it usually would load up Windows.

I like to use the memtest ISO. Download the ISO and burn a CD image using that ISO. Boot from the CD and it runs automatically! Piece of cake.... :)
