Seems like its been a while since anything good was released. I like Strategy games for the most part. Civilization, Warcraft, C&C...I play some shooters and they are ok, but they are all the same.

Am I missing some less than well known strategy games?

also if you like shooters try battlefield 1942. One of the best games of all time.

You might want to try Rise of Nations, pretty fun but virtually unplayable on 56k =(. Also Call of Duty is one of the funnest games I've ever played =D.

Game of the Year, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

If you play any RPGs. You don't have to be a big RPG or SW fan to love this one though.

I'm a fan of Rise of Nations... Have you checked out Homeworld2??? I've heard a lot of good things about that game...

One of my favourites is Rise of Nations. Definately the best if you like RTS. You might also want to check out these (I haven't played these before, but I heard good things about them):

Age of Mythology
Commandos 3
Empires: Dawn of the Modern World
Medieval: Total War

My game circle (everyone buys a game or two per month and we trade around) had Dominions II. The graphics BLOW and you dont get to fight with your army (its automated) but for pure turn based strategy, it seems pretty good.

I havent tried Commandos, Empires, or Medieval.

Im a little hacked about Age of Mythology. I got the expansion but seem to be unable to find my origional disk. I hate waste my pick on an old game like that :/

I didn't mean Call of Duty single player, I meant multi which is the best.
